School Term Dates 2020/21
A full list of official School Holiday Dates and Staff Training Days for 2019-2022 can be found on the CCBC website however any changes will be noted on the school calendar on our website. Dates may change depending on government advice following the Corona Virus pandemic.

School Opens – Wednesday 2nd September 2020
Half Term – Monday 19th October 2020 – Friday 30th October 2020
Staff Training Day – Monday 2nd November 2020 (No school for children)
Children return to school on Tuesday 3rd November 2020
Christmas Holidays – Monday 21st December 2020
Staff Training Day – Monday 4th January 2021 (No school for children)
School Opens – Tuesday 5th January 2021
Half Term – Monday 15th February 2021 – Friday 19th February 2021
Easter Holidays – Monday 29th March 2021
Staff Training Day – Monday 12th April 2021 (No school for children)
School Opens – Tuesday 13th April 2021
May Day – Monday 3rd May 2021 (No school for children)
Half Term – Monday 31st May 2021 – Friday 4th June 2021
End of Year – Tuesday 20th July 2021

The School Day and Teaching hours
The school hours are as follows –
Meithrin / Nursery
Morning Session 9am – 11.15am
Afternoon Session 12.45pm – 3pm
Babanod / Infants (Reception, Years 1 & 2) *
9am – 3pm
Teaching Hours: 21 per week
Iau / Juniors (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) *
9am – 3.30pm
Teaching Hours: 23.5 per week
*The School accepts responsibility for pupils 10 minutes before start of morning sessions and 10 minutes after end of afternoon sessions.
Playtimes are supervised by a teacher and support staff.
Lunchbreaks are supervised by Mid Day Supervisors.
There is no charge for Breakfast Club as this is a Welsh Government initiative. Children must arrive between 8.20am and 8.40am. It is not possible for children arriving later than this to enter Breakfast Club.
Cereal with milk, toast, fruit and juice or water is available.
8.20am – 9am (children remain in the school hall)
Infants MUST be signed in by a parent/carer – Junior pupils are not allowed to sign in younger siblings who are in the Infants Department (Nursery to Year 2)
8.20am – 8.50am (at 8.50am responsibility is handed over to the staff supervising the school yards)
Junior pupils can sign themselves in to Breakfast Club.
After School Club
The Chasebell After School Club is a private business set up within the school grounds. Sessions are as follows.
Session 1 = 3 – 3.30pm, 5 days
Session 2 = 3 – 6pm (inc.light snack)
Holiday Club = 8.30 to 5.45pm
