Dear Parents/Carers 16th November 2018
T4U Shoebox Appeal – ‘Give Love in a Box This Christmas’ – many thanks for the shoe boxes we have received so far – we can now accept shoe boxes up until 9am Monday morning 19th November. More information is available from www.teams4u.com. Thank you for your support.
CHILDREN IN NEED TODAY – thank you for your support – the total amount of money raised will be announced next week.
RYDAL PENRHOS MATHS CHALLENGE – We were extremely proud when one of our teams from year 6 came joint 3rd against other schools in the Rydal Penrhos Maths Callenge. We would like to thank all the pupils who took part as both teams did very well. Congratulations to them all. Some pupils from Year 5 and Year 4 will have the opportunity to take part later in the year.
PANTO PAYMENT (RECEPTION CLASSES TO YEAR 6) – if you have not arranged payment as yet, please do so urgently. If you need another copy of your Parent Pay Activation letters, please contact main Reception.
PLASTIC FISH TANK for NURSERY CLASS: The Nursery Classes are awaiting a delivery of some African Land Snails but the snails need a home – if anyone has an old plastic fish tank that they no longer need, it would be very gratefully received! Thank you.
CHRISTMAS DINNER 6TH DECEMBER: If your child does NOT normally have school dinners, they are welcome to have a Christmas Dinner on 6th December however the Kitchen needs to know the numbers of children wanting a Christmas Dinner before Friday 23rd November – please send a note into school with your child’s name/class stating that they want Christmas Dinner on 6th December. The cost is £2.30 per child. The Christmas Dinner will then be charged to your Parent Pay account on 6th December so there is no need to send cash/cheque to school in payment.
PTA UPDATE: Here’s a list of items that the PTA have purchased over the last couple of terms! Storage units for Year 2, Trophy cabinet, Litter pickers, Yoga Mats, Coach hire for Year 4 trip to Manchester Airport, Soundproofing for the Music Room. Thank you for your support!
CHRISTMAS FAYRE/RAFFLE TICKETS: The Christmas Fayre will be held on Thursday 13th December from 3pm – 5pm. Raffle Tickets will be on sale from Monday, 50 pence per ticket. We will be sending one raffle ticket book home for each family and we would be very grateful if you could help us raise some funds by selling the tickets. Many thanks in advance. Parents will need to collect Year 3 and 4 children from their class at 3pm to attend the Fayre – if not collected, they will leave school via the gate as normal at 3.30pm. Year 5 & 6 pupils will be able to attend the Fayre only if parents have given written permission, otherwise they will also go home at 3.30pm as usual.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT DATES: These have been e-mailed to parents – please note that there will be a ticketing system in place for each Concert (no ticket, no entry) and we will be charging £2 per ticket – all funds raised will be going directly to your child/children’s classes to benefit them directly. Each child will receive a letter outlining the ticket procedures in the next week.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS on MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAY: Please note that if any After School club is cancelled at short notice due to staff shortage and there is another Club being held on the same day, children will automatically stay to do the alternative After School club. This refers to Dragon Sports (Tennis) and Netball on Mondays and Tri-Golf and Rugby on Wednesdays. Please note that Dragon Sports and Netball are weather dependent.
CLWB CANU AFTER SCHOOL CLUB – pupils have already had letters to say that Clwb Canu will now be held during school hours (and not as an After School Club).
SCHOOL DINNER PAYMENT REMINDER: AS PREVIOUSLY ADVISED, PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING CASH OR CHEQUES FOR DINNER MONEY PAYMENT – ALL DINNER MONEY PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE VIA PARENT PAY. If this is a problem, please contact Reception. Letters were sent to parents on how to set up Parent Pay (if not already done so) before half term. School dinners cost £2.30 per day or £11.50 for the whole week.
Yours sincerely
Mr Iwan Lloyd Jones, Headteacher
