Letter from the Headteacher

Dear Parents/Guardians                                                                                                  28 June 2019

SPORTS DAY SUCCESS: Thank you to everyone involved in all the successful Sports Days this year. I saw so many pupils enjoying themselves and having fun. Thank you as well to all you parents and family members who came along and supported.

CARS: We can’t get away from it, cars are a necessity however we need to be more aware of the effect that our use of cars can have on others and the environment around us. Hot weather and high pressure systems such as those we are experiencing currently, can exacerbate problems due to air pollution. This can complicate matters for those of us who have respiratory health related issues such as asthma. We can all take steps to reduce the pollution from our cars and one of the ways we can do this is by switching our engines off rather than letting them idle whilst parked outside school. When you think about it, a car exhaust is not much lower than a child’s mouth and car exhaust fumes contribute greatly to health issues.

NEW NURSERY INTAKE PARENTS EVENING REMINDER: This will be held on Monday 1st July at 6pm.

NEW NURSERY INTAKE TEDDY BEAR’S PICNIC REMINDER these sessions will be held on Wednesday July 3rd – times will be allocated at the above Parents Evening on Monday 1st July.

MUSIC LESSONS – if you have not yet paid for this term’s Music Lessons, please do so urgently thank you.

TEA TOWELS: Tea Towels have now arrived and look fantastic! They are on display in the school Reception if you would like to take a look. Due to high demand we have ordered a limited number of additional Infant/Junior tea towels available to buy at the summer fair.  These will be sold on a first come first served basis.  Each tea towel costs £3.

If you know of any local traders who would like to attend or donate a raffle prize, please ask them to contact the school Reception. Thank you to the Bay Marine Hotel who have donated prizes already. We also need volunteers to help set-up and clear up on the day – please contact Reception if you can help as the Fayre cannot go ahead without help. Raffle tickets have been sent home this week – thank you again for your co-operation in selling these.

Infants and Year 3 & 4 will ONLY be able to attend the fayre at 3pm if accompanied by an adult, otherwise they MUST be picked up at 3:30pm, as usual from the gate. Pupils will need collecting from class at 3pm.

Years 5 and 6 will only be permitted to attend the fayre at 3pm or after school, if their class teacher has had written permission from parents. If not attending the fayre, all other year 5 and 6 pupils will leave school through the gate, as usual, at 3:30pm.
