SCHOOL PHOTO (Reception to Year 6): Tempest photography will be here to take a photograph on Wednesday afternoon 22nd May of all pupils from Reception to Year 6.
Junior After School Club amendment – there will be no Tri-Golf next Wednesday 22nd May.
Urdd Area Athletics: What an evening! 23 pupils from years 3-6 competed at Parc Eirias on May 15th, representing Ysgol Craig y Don, accompanied by 3 members of staff, parents and family members. What a success! Our school excelled in both track and field events, showing enthusiasm, determination and excellent team bonding. 14 pupils have succeeded in going through to the County Urdd Athletics held at Parc Eirias on June 4th at 4:30pm:
- Lucy Charlick – 1st in 75m race and 1st in years 3 & 4 girls relay.
- Isabelle Rynn – 3rd in 75m race, 1st in long jump and girls relay.
- Taylor McMillan-Byrne – 1st in 600m long race.
- Emily Howson – 1st in 600m long race and girls relay and 2nd in long jump.
- Molly Lundstram – 1st in girls relay.
- Ben Hollas – 2nd in ball throwing.
- Keira Murray – 1st in ball throwing and javelin.
- Joshua Jones – 2nd in javelin.
- Shea Pita – 3rd in 100m race, 2nd in ball throwing and 1st in long jump.
- Eva Spencer – 1st in 100m race, girls relay and long jump.
- Max Guinn – 1st in javelin.
- Farha Alize – 1st in girls relay.
- Milly Woodyatt – 1st in girls relay.
- Kate Lewis – 1st in girls relay.
We are so proud of our talented athletes, and many thanks to all the adults who supported and transported the pupils. Diolch yn fawr!
Urdd Cross Country/Trawsgwlad: The event is held at Y Faenol near Bangor for years 3-6 on Thursday evening, June 20th. Details to follow in early June.
PLASTIC BOTTLE TOPS REQUEST Reminder: Dosbarth Geirionydd (Year 3) are busy re-vamping the outside reception area and are asking if people could bring in plastic bottle tops – they will be using them to brighten up the area. Many thanks to the PTA for funding the project so far – we have bought new plants/paint and are busy upcycling!
MUSIC LESSONS – if your child receives Music Lessons, please note that the fee for Summer Term is now payable via Parent Pay. Many thanks.
GDPR Forms – reminder: If you have not as yet returned the GDPR permission form, please do so urgently, thank you.
DAILY MILE INFORMATION (Reminder): The Young Ambassadors and Mrs Owen are aiming to revive the Daily Mile throughout the school – 15 minutes of running/jogging should happen on a daily basis to boost brain power, concentration and wellbeing. It’s proven!! Record sheets will be kept to see which classes have participated the most during the week.
JUNIORS THURSDAY FITNESS (reminder): This is being re-introduced every Thursday from 2.30-3.15pm. The format will alternate between circuit activities and some Jo Wicks (The BodyCoach) style HIIT training, led by the Young Ambassadors and accompanied by some upbeat music.
PE KITS: PLEASE CAN YOU ENSURE THAT ALL CHILDREN THEREFORE HAVE THEIR PE KITS IN SCHOOL EVERY DAY. They will also need water bottles every day. Thank you.
SCHOOL DINNERS – PRICE INCREASE REMINDER. We have been advised by Conwy County Borough Council that the prices for school dinners will increase to £2.50 per meal after Easter. A copy of the new Summer menu has already been e-mailed and children have already brought copies home.
If you feel you may be eligible for Free School Meals, application forms are available from the school office.
PARENT PAY – SCHOOL DINNERS – please can you ensure that any overdue dinner monies are paid, thank you.
NATIONAL TEST DATES Years 2 – 6 reminder – Please note that part of the procedural maths test is to be undertaken on-line this year, and they will be completed in school by 13th June.

Monday Football 12.45-1.15pm Years 3 – 6 by invitation – children to see Mr Huw Llewelyn Jones if interested please. If your child is attending these sessions, please ensure they have appropriate clothing with them – sessions take place on the school field.
