ST DAVID’S DAY COFFEE MORNING RAFFLE WINNERS. If you have the following winning tickets, please contact/bring the tickets to Reception asap – orange ticket strip numbers 56-60 and 41-45. The winners of the other prizes have been contacted directly. Thank you. Any prizes not collected by Friday March 17th will be re-drawn.
URDD DISCO DANCING SUCCESS. Well done to the disco dancers – Sêr y Don (group) won first prize and Coral was second in the individual competition. Good luck next week in the second round!
URDD ART COMPETITION SUCCESS. CONGRATULATIONS to the children who went through to the county eisteddfod for their art compositions on Monday! FANTASTIC!
URDD EISTEDDFOD, this Saturday 11th March. All the best to each pupil who will be representing Ysgol Craig y Don at the Eisteddfod at Ysgol y Creuddyn on Saturday. Pob lwc i Ysgol Craig y Don.
Many thanks to all the staff for their hard work over the last few weeks and for giving up their weekends/evenings to that the children can compete.
AFTERSCHOOL FOOTBALL CLUB (with Steve Belmont). This will commence next Tuesday March 14th from 3.30 – 4.30pm Open to all Juniors. There is no charge for this club.
NURSERY AND RECEPTION CLASSES SPONSORED SINGALONG – this was a great success – we will let you know the total amount raised as soon as all the sponsorship money has been received. Thanks to Asda and McDonalds for supplying the paper cups for tea/coffee on the day.
RED NOSE DAY NOSES – these have now been sold out – over 200 have been sold in just over one day – thank you for your support. Comic Relief Red Nose Day is on Friday 24th March – this will be a non-school uniform day (wear red) with donations going towards Comic Relief. There will be a prize for the most creative outfit.
TEMPEST CLASS PHOTOGRAPHS – these will be taken on Monday 27th March.
Years 2 to 6 NATIONAL NUMERACY and READING TESTS Reminder: This year’s statutory tests for pupils in years 2 to 6 will take place between Wednesday 3rd May and 10th May. These tests are statutory, that is to say every child in the relevant year groups must sit them and they can only be administered during the official time period above. Therefore, we do not expect any children in years 2 to 6 to be on holiday during the period from April 25th to 11th May. The school will not authorise holidays taken by pupils during this period.

YSGOL CRAIG Y DON WORLD BOOK DAY – FRIDAY 17th MARCH. Children are welcome to dress up as a book character.
PTA MOTHERS DAY GIFTS – these will be available for children to buy again this year on Monday 20th, Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd March. They will be able to buy as follows –
Infants can purchase gifts at 3pm (Nursery mornings can bring money to school and choose during their morning session)
Juniors will be able to buy gifts during afternoon playtimes (2.10-2.25pm years 3 and 4 and 2.30 – 2.45pm years 5 and 6)
******Please let reception know if you can help with selling the Mother Day Gifts
PTA EASTER RAFFLE £1 a go – Raffle tickets will be sold around the classes in the mornings from Monday 27th March to Wednesday 5th April £1 a go. There will be one prize for Infants and one prize for Juniors.
