We are entering a very busy time in school with school trips, sponsored walks and sports days etc. Please remember that all events can be seen on our School Calendar on our school website.
SPORTS DAY Re-scheduled DATES
YEARS 1 & 2 (CONWY, CYBI, CLWYD) – rescheduled for this Wednesday 5th July, 1.30pm – on school grounds.
JUNIORS SPORTS DAY (Years 3 to 6) – rescheduled to Monday 17th July at school. Years 3 and 4 will be from 10am – 11.30am and Years 5 and 6 will be from 1.30pm – 3pm.
AFTERSCHOOL CLUBS Updates
Mondays – Dragon Sports for Years 4, 5 and 6 from 3.30pm – 4.15pm – the last session is next week, Monday 10th July (no session on July 17th)
Tuesdays – Cookery Club Year 6 – will continue on a rota basis. 3.30-4.30pm
Wednesdays – TRI- GOLF SESSIONS these have been cancelled until September (dates to be advised)
Wednesdays – Gardening Club (Reception classes – as per details provided)
URDD – no further sessions until after the summer holidays (dates to be advised)
Please note that there are no After School Clubs during the first two week of school in September – please look out for start dates in the letters from the Headteacher in September.
YEAR 6 LEAVERS LUNCH – this will be held on Tuesday July 18th and will be chicken and chips in a bag and a special pudding. Everyone can join in the fun but please let school know by this Friday 7th July if your child would like a Leavers Lunch. Infants will cost £2.15 and Juniors £2.20.
Change to Menu on Thursday 20th July – there will be no roast dinner but fish instead.
PTA SUMMER FAIR. Help is needed at the School Fair please. Please let Reception know if you can help and what you would like to help with – thank you in advance for your support, without your help, the fair can not go ahead –
- Help Setting up – 6/8 people
- Bouncy Castle supervision x1
- Gladiator game supervision x1
- Help with the BBQ x2
- Canteen help (teas/coffee/Ice cream) x 2
- Cake Stall help x2
- Tombola stalls x3
- Raffle (Raffle being held on the day) x1
- The Children will be arranging their own class stalls and there will be a prize for the class that raises the most money!
SPORTS NEWS What a brilliant performance all 4 girls gave in the North Wales Tennis Tournament held last week, resulting in the team becoming Year 6 North Wales Champions for 2017. The team comprised of Erin Heffernan-Lewis, Lara Spencer, Lucy Welsh and Imogen McKenzie. They were presented with a trophy, medals and t-shirts and their pictures will appear soon in the Daily Post. Well done also to the Year 6 boys team who faced tough competition. They came 4th. The team comprised of Lucas Gregson, Lewis McMillan, Lewis Williams and Leon Seager. We are very fortunate to have such talented athletes and sporty pupils at Ysgol Craig y Don and are so proud of each one of them. Da iawn pawb.
URDD CROSS COUNTY at the FAENOL, BANGOR. Well done to all those who competed in this event. All pupils who participated did the school proud and they all achieved a medal. Huge congratulations to Eva Spencer and Shea Pita who both came first in their races (Year 4 girls and Year 3 boys) !!
