Letter from Headteacher

Dear Parents/Carers

As Miss Lowri Hughes is finishing with us today, I will be returning to teach after Christmas.  Full time, with Mr Glyn Owen as T.A. support to release her when needed.

We would like to thank Lowri from the bottom of our hearts for her hard work during a difficult and pressured time, and for her wonderful teamwork with Merian.  She is, by now, part of the CyD family.

It has been a long but fruitful term.  The staff and children have worked extremely hard and have taken us through an Estyn Inspection smoothly.  In addition, all have dedicated their time and efforts to produce superb Christmas Concerts and Services which were very well attended by parents and families.

The under 7’s Christmas concerts raised £299.48 for the School Council’s chosen charity, CLIC Sargent. And £129.90 each will be given from the Junior Concerts towards the Blind Veterans and Clic Sargent.  DVD’s will be available to purchase after Christmas.

Many thanks to all those involved in making the Christmas Fair a success yesterday, a total of £1224 was raised for the PTA.

The Christmas Jumper today also raised £186.90.

A huge thank you for your continued support and co-operation throughout the past term.  It is very much appreciated.

May the whole staff and children of Ysgol Craig –y-Don wish you all a very merry, peaceful Christmas and a happy, prosperous New Year.

School reopens Wednesday, January 4th for the children, after a well-deserved break.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Elaine Gelling

Deputy Headteacher
