BREAKFAST CLUB: Please note that the school gates WILL NOT BE UNLOCKED until 8.15am strictly as Breakfast Club does not begin until 8.20am. Children are their parents’ responsibility until 8.20am when children arrive in Breakfast Club. Children in the Infants (Nursery to Year 2) MUST be signed in by parents every morning into Breakfast Club. Thank you for your co-operation
URDD SWIMMING GALA: Well done to all the pupils who represented Ysgol Craig y Don at the gala recently. Many congratulations to Shay Thomas on winning the individual medley for years 5 & 6 boys and for coming second in the years 5 and 6 boys freestyle. Congratulations also to Lucas Thomas, on winning both the breaststroke and butterfly races for years 3 and 4 boys. Both brothers will represent the school and Conwy County, at the National Urdd Swimming Gala held in Cardiff on January 20th 2018. What an achievement. We are very proud of them both. Congratulations also to Poppy Close for coming third in the years 5 & 6 girls breaststroke race.

Christmas Concert Tickets – If you have not done so already and would like to buy tickets, please return the forms/payment to school by this Friday 1st December please. We can then let parents/carers know if there are any spare tickets available. Thank you.
SCHOOL CHRISTMAS DINNER: If your child/children do not normally have school dinners, but would like a Christmas Dinner on Thursday 14th December, please bring in £2.20 in an enveloped marked Christmas Dinner with your child’s name and class by Friday 1st December. Thank you.
CHILDREN IN NEED – FANCY DRESS/OWN CLOTHES DAY – the final total raised was an amazing £466.00 – thank you!
SHOEBOX APPEAL with Teams 4 U ‘Changing lives, one box at a time’: We collected a total of 46 boxes which is a record for our school – thank you once again to those who donated.
TY HAPUS FOOD BANK DONATIONS: The PTA will be collecting food/household items for Ty Hapus to create Christmas Food Hampers. Donations can be brought in week this week – we already have almost a trolley full of food to go to Ty Hapus. Items they would like, include: Tinned meat/pies/pudding, tinned veg/fruit, soup, pasta sauce/curry sauce, rice/pasta, long life milk, juice, rice pudding/tinned fruit, biscuits, instant mash, hot chocolate, shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste, breakfast cereal, pet food, instant noodles, beans, tinned spaghetti, teabags/coffee or Christmas specific items such as mince pies, biscuits, swiss rolls, sweets or chocolate. Thank you for your support.
NEXT PTA MEETING will be held on Monday 4th December 3.30pm in the School Hall to discuss details for the Christmas Fayre: – ALL WELCOME! If you can not attend the meeting but would like to help on the day, please let Reception know which time you are available to help between 1.30pm and 6pm. The Fayre can not go ahead without help from parents.
CHRISTMAS FAYRE: This will be held on Thursday 14th December from 3-5pm. Parents will need to collect Year 3 and 4 children from their class at 3pm to attend the Fayre – if not collected, they will leave school via the gate as normal at 3.30pm. Year 5 & 6 pupils will be able to attend the Fayre only if parents have given written permission, otherwise they will also go home at 3.30pm as usual.

CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY FRIDAY 15th December: This is to raise funds for Save the Children. Children are welcome to wear a Christmas Jumper on the day in lieu of donations for this cause.
LOST PROPERTY: We have a large collection of lost property in Reception. Please come along and look through the box if you have any items missing. Thank you.
DINNER MONEY PRICE INCREASE FOR INFANTS REMINDER: The school dinner price is now £2.20 per day, £11.00 per week. This means that the price for both Infants and Junior meal cost is £2.20.
Llandudno Christmas Parade Saturday 2nd December – School Choir. The choir have been asked to sing Christmas carols with the Town Band from 3.45-4pm followed by the Reverend’s Christmas Message and switching on the Christmas lights at 4.10pm. Parents will need to stay with their children who are in the choir and meet staff at 3.15pm outside the Town Hall.
CRAIG Y DON COMMUNITY CENTRE COFFEE MORNING: Some of the School Choir will be singing on Friday 15th December from 10.30am – all welcome to attend.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS – please make a note of dates for the following if your child/children attend any of the clubs: Start dates for the New Year will be advised in January.
Monday 3.30 – 4.15: DRAGON SPORTS 4, 5 and 6 (tennis). This is now finished until some point in the New Year.
Tuesday 3.30-4.30 COOKERY CLUB Year 6 (on rota basis)
Tuesday 3.30 – 4.30 Years 3 – 6 with Llandudno FOOTBALL in the Community (as per letter e-mailed to parents, there is a charge for this activity). Details available from LlFiC. Last session is 12th December.
Wednesday 3.30 – 4.15 TRI-GOLF – now open to Years 3 to 6 (in the school hall) – last session 6th December.
Wednesday 3.30 – 4.15 NETBALL for Years 3 – 6 – this is weather dependent, please collect children if it is raining or there are high winds. The last session will be 6th December.
Wednesday 3pm – 3.45 GARDENING CLUB for Reception Classes only (as per timetable given to parents) – last session being held 29th November.
Thursday 3.30 – 4.15pm URDD (in school hall) – the last Urdd session for this year will be on 7th December.
NURSERY INTAKE for September 2018. If you have a child that will be 3 years old by 31st August 2018, you need to apply now for a Nursery Class Place. You can collect a yellow form from the school office and –forms must be submitted by 15th December 2017 at the latest.
CLWB URDD CLUB – MEMBERSHIP REMINDER: The membership for 2017/18 is £7 per child if paid before December 1st. Cheques should be made payable to Ysgol Craig y Don who administer the Urdd membership.
