Letter from Headteacher 27 October 2017

Dear Parents/Carers

URDD 7 a side boys football tournament: What a success! Our team of 11 talented footballers won all 8 matches in their group, conceding no goals at the tournament held on Tuesday at Llandudno Football Club. Nine teams played altogether in their group, from other schools within the County (27 schools altogether) and with 100% success, our team were the worthy winners within their group gaining 24 points and scoring 17 goals. The team comprised of Joe Belmont, Frankie Montgomery, Cieran Williams, Frankie Lynch, Joshua Lee, Bryn Williams, Flavio Cabras, Lucas Thomas, Callum Noke, Sam Ratcliffe and Thomas Guinn. The team will now go forward to play in the county final during the Spring term. We are very proud of our talented boys and thank you also to the parents who supported us on the day.

WEAR IT PINK DAY: On Friday 20th October we raised an incredible £382.49 – thank you for your support.

HEAD LICE: we have had a few cases reported recently, please can you check your childrens’ hair during half term – many thanks.

DINNER MONEY PRICE INCREASE FOR INFANTS: We have been advised that the price for Infants school dinners will increase to £2.20 from 1st November (i.e. after half term). This means that the price for both Infants and Junior meals is £2.20.

NURSERY INTAKE for September 2018. If you have a child that will be 3 years old by 31st August 2018, you can now apply for a Nursery Class Place. You can collect a yellow form from the school office, download a form or apply online at www.conwy.gov.uk/admissions. Forms must be submitted by 15th December 2017 at the latest. RECEPTION CLASSES INTAKE for September 2018. Green forms will be given our to our current Nursery children this week to apply for a place in our Reception Classes in September 2018. Please complete and return these forms to school as soon as possible. Thank you

SHOEBOX APPEAL with Teams 4 U ‘Changing lives, one box at a time’ Reminder: Leaflets have been distributed to children. If you would like to donate a filled shoebox, the collection date from our school is Monday 20TH November.

PTA UPDATE: The Monster Balls raised a total of £189.59, thank you to all those who helped make these events so successful.

NEXT PTA MEETING Monday 6TH November 3.30pm in the School Hall: – ALL WELCOME!

CLWB URDD CLUB – MEMBERSHIP REMINDER: This is run by the school teaching staff who will provide a wide range of exciting activities for the pupils from Years 3 to 6 through the medium of Welsh. During the year, there will be sporting tournaments and competitions in the local and regional Eisteddfodau. These vary from singing, reciting and acting, to literacy, art and craft. In order to compete in these events and attend the club, your child MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE URDD. The membership for 2017/18 is £7 per child if paid before December 1st. Cheques should be made payable to Ysgol Craig y Don who administer the Urdd membership.
