Dear Parents/Carers
It looks like the year 3 and 4 runners have set the bar high for running events. Running at the URDD cross country races at the Faenol Estate in Bangor last Thursday, Craig y Don pupils gave an excellent account of themselves. In difficult and crowded conditions, several were well placed, showing the determination required to succeed. Eva S in year three came in 3rd in her race out of one hundred starters and Joe B in year 4 came in 5th place. All the runners completed the course which is a massive achievement in itself.
Marathon: Wow, what a fantastic day Sunday turned out to be. I am back in school in one piece apart from having to wear slippers on account of my blisters. The soles of my feet exploded at around mile 10 and I completed the remaining 16 miles in absolute agony. However, the supportive words and comments from the pupils of Ysgol Craig y Don, I’d read on the train on the way down, kept me going! Thank you all for your kind and generous support. Together we have done Diabetes UK proud and I know that they will put the money to good use. More on the blog soon.
Polite Reminder – Dogs are NOT ALLOWED on school grounds (this includes carrying them).
Co-op Easter Colouring Competition. Prizes have now been distributed, congratulations to all the winners – Max W (Year 6), Erin H (Year 5), Kaylee (Year 4), Poppy (Year 3), Chloe W (Year 2), Riley T (Year 1), Harry T (Reception), Harri M (Reception), Sienna (Meithrin)
LOST PROPERTY: One of the pitfalls of a school uniform is that everybody wears the same clothes and it is impossible to tell what belongs to who without labels. We have been notified that we should not hold onto lost property for more than 2 weeks. Therefore, any lost property that has not been collected by Friday 6th May will be donated to charity.
Rocket Seeds from Space: The seeds have arrived from space and have been planted by Year 4. Two packets of seeds were supplied, only one has been in space and the experiment is to see if the seeds grow differently and if the children can guess which ones have been in space.
WORMHOUT TRAINING SESSIONS – now being held in Creuddyn
