There have been many LATE ARRIVALS marked on the register recently. May I remind you that punctuality is essential. Teaching and learning time begin at 9am and late arrivals affect class routines and systems. Thank you for your co-operation.
SCHOOL CHRISTMAS DINNER: If your child/children do not normally have school dinners, but would like a Christmas Dinner on Thursday 14th December, please bring in £2.20 in an enveloped marked Christmas Dinner with your child’s name and class by Friday 1st December. Thank you.
Christmas Concert Dates – These dates were circulated yesterday. Letters will follow in the next week with full details.
CHILDREN IN NEED – FANCY DRESS/OWN CLOTHES DAY – TODAY – so far we have raised an amazing £394.66 – many thanks to everyone for their support.
SHOEBOX APPEAL with Teams 4 U ‘Changing lives, one box at a time’ Reminder: If you would like to donate a filled shoebox, the collection date from our school is Monday 20TH November.
TY HAPUS FOOD BANK DONATIONS: The PTA will be collecting food/household items for Ty Hapus to create Christmas Food Hampers. Donations can be brought in week commencing 27th November so that the PTA can take them to Ty Hapus on the Thursday/Friday. If you would like to donate, they have asked for the following items in particular –
Tinned meat/pies/pudding, tinned veg/fruit, soup, pasta sauce/curry sauce, rice/pasta, long life milk, juice, rice pudding/tinned fruit, biscuits, instant mash, hot chocolate, shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste, breakfast cereal, dog/cat food, instant noodles, beans, tinned spaghetti, teabags/coffee or Christmas specific items such as mince pies, biscuits, chocolate/jam swiss rolls, sweets or chocolate. Thank you for your support.
NEXT PTA MEETING will be held on Monday 4th December 3.30pm in the School Hall to discuss details for the Christmas Fayre: – ALL WELCOME! If you can not attend the meeting but would like to help on the day, please let Reception know which time you are available to help between 1.30pm and 6pm. The Fayre can not go ahead without help from parents.
RAFFLE PRIZES – if anyone has their own business or knows of one who may like to donate a prize, these would be very gratefully accepted.
CHRISTMAS FAYRE: This will be held on Thursday 14th December from 3-5pm. Parents will need to collect Year 3 and 4 children from their class at 3pm to attend the Fayre – if not collected, they will leave school via the gate as normal at 3.30pm. Year 5 & 6 pupils will be able to attend the Fayre only if parents have given written permission, otherwise they will also go home at 3.30pm as usual.
PTA OWN CLOTHES DAY Friday 8th December – Infants and Juniors to bring Tombola donations for the Christmas Fayre please.

CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY FRIDAY 15th December: This is to raise funds for Save the Children. Children are welcome to wear a Christmas Jumper on that day in lieu of donations for this cause.
LOST PROPERTY: We have a large collection of lost property in Reception. Please come along and look through the box if you have any items missing. Thank you.
DINNER MONEY PRICE INCREASE FOR INFANTS REMINDER: The school dinner price is now £2.20 per day, £11.00 per week. This means that the price for both Infants and Junior meal cost is £2.20.
Llandudno Christmas Parade Saturday 2nd December – School Choir. The choir have been asked to sing Christmas carols with the Town Band from 3.45-4pm followed by the Reverend’s Christmas Message and switching on the Christmas lights at 4.10pm. Parents will need to stay with their children who are in the choir and meet staff at 3.15pm outside the Town Hall.
CRAIG Y DON COMMUNITY CENTRE COFFEE MORNING: Some of the School Choir will be singing on Friday 15th December from 10.30am – all welcome to attend.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS – please make a note of dates for the following if your child/children attend any of the clubs: Start dates for the New Year will be advised in January.
Monday 3.30 – 4.15: DRAGON SPORTS 4, 5 and 6 (tennis). This is weather dependent, please collect your children at 3.30pm if it is raining or there are high winds. The last session is Monday 27th November.
Tuesday 3.30-4.30 COOKERY CLUB Year 6 (on rota basis)
Tuesday 3.30 – 4.30 Years 3 – 6 with Llandudno FOOTBALL in the Community (as per letter e-mailed to parents, there is a charge for this activity). Details available from LlFiC.
Wednesday 3.30 – 4.15 TRI-GOLF – now open to Years 3 to 6 (in the school hall) – last session 6th December.
Wednesday 3.30 – 4.15 NETBALL for Years 3 – 6 – this is weather dependent, please collect children if it is raining or there are high winds. The last session will be 6th December.
Wednesday 3pm – 3.45 GARDENING CLUB for Reception Classes only (as per timetable given to parents)
Thursday 3.30 – 4.15pm URDD (in school hall) – the last Urdd session for this year will be on 7th December.
NURSERY INTAKE for September 2018. If you have a child that will be 3 years old by 31st August 2018, you need to apply now for a Nursery Class Place. You can collect a yellow form from the school office and –forms must be submitted by 15th December 2017 at the latest.
RECEPTION CLASSES INTAKE for September 2018. Green forms have been given out to parents – please return them to school as soon as possible. Thank you
CLWB URDD CLUB – MEMBERSHIP REMINDER: The membership for 2017/18 is £7 per child if paid before December 1st. Cheques should be made payable to Ysgol Craig y Don who administer the Urdd membership.
