Letter from Headteacher 13th September

FORMS – Reception to Year 6 Parents: Please can you return any forms to school urgently if you have not done so already. These include the PLASC forms that contain your child’s details and Flu immunisation forms (in white envelopes). Reception parents (Penrhyn & Gogarth) should also return their NHS Health Screening forms to school as soon as possible.   Many thanks

JUNIOR MUSIC LESSONS – As of this afternoon, we have the following Music Lessons available now to all Junior pupils. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and forms are available from the school office. Guitar x 3 places, Harp x 4 places, Violin x 5 places, Woodwind x 3 places and Piano x 1 place.

PTA MEETING – the first meeting of this school year will take place this Monday 16th September at 3.30pm – New members Welcome!!!

TEMPEST PHOTOGRAPHS: Tempest will be here on 24th September to take individual and family photographs of the children. Further information to follow.

JUNIORS AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

Please ensure that children have PE kits with them on the day for sporting afterschool clubs. The following after school clubs are starting next week –

Monday Dragon Sports (Tennis) – 3.30 – 4.15pm, Years 4 to 6. Leader – Mrs Merian Hughes, Year 4

Monday Lunchtime Football 12.45-1.15pm Years 3 – 6 by invitation – children to see Mr Huw Llewelyn Jones if interested please. If your child is attending these sessions, please ensure they have appropriate clothing with them – sessions take place on the school field. Leader – Mr Huw Llywelyn Jones, Year 4

Tuesday Cookery Club 3.30 – 4.30pm – Year 6 – as advised in individual letters.

Wednesday Rugby 3.30 – 4.15pm, Years 3 – 6. Leader – Mr Huw Llywelyn Jones, Year 4

Wednesday TRI-GOLF 3.30 – 4.15pm, Years 3 – 6. Leader – Mrs Louise Davis-Owen, PPA Teacher

Wednesday Learning to Be sessions (Tuition services £10 per session, contact 07952 065735 as per instructions from them). Free taster sessions are available! Sessions finish at 5pm.

Friday lunchtime Chess Club for Years 3 to 6 – open invitation to all. Being held in Dosbarth Maelgwn Year 4 with Mr Llywelyn Jones.

Please also remember about the Ty Llywelyn Homework Club held which is held Mondays to Wednesdays / 4 – 5.30pm, Years 3 – 6.

Other After School Club Start Dates –

Urdd After School Club – this will start on Thursday 3rd October 3.30 – 4.15pm (Years 3 to 6). Please note that all children attending the Urdd Club MUST be members of the Urdd and membership this year can only be made on-line at www.urdd.cymru. Simply visit the website, click Join and follow the instructions remembering to include Ysgol Craig y Don in the appropriate section. Membership is £8 per child.

Please note the start date for Netball (Years 4 to 6) is yet to be advised (will be Mondays).
