Letter from Headteacher 10th September 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

Parking Outside School – please can we remind parents/carers NOT to park on the zig/zags/double yellow lines outside school and to please be respectful of where you park around the school area.  If a member of staff asks you to move, this is for the safety of ALL pupils including your own.

Drop-off/Collection Reminder We ask very kindly that you do not congregate at the gate or on the yard but leave the area immediately, avoiding causing an obstruction.  During these times staff will not be available to discuss any matters/issues with you – staff are only available by prior appointment. Please e-mail the school office and a telephone appointment can be made for you.

Covid Symptoms- Reminder – We do still have Covid measures in place although some have been relaxed and our response to a positive case will not lead to whole contact groups being asked to isolate.  One of the key factors in ensuring the success of the current measures is that we keep the virus out of school.  Therefore, we ask you to ensure that you do not send your child to school with any Covid symptoms or if they are unwell.

PLASC Forms (for Reception Classes to Year 6) – you will receive a printed copy of your parent/carer contact details etc today (in a brown envelope).  Please check the information, amend if necessary, include full medical/dietery/allergen details, sign and date the forms and return to school early next week (even if the details have not changed).  Many thanks in advance.

FLU IMMUNISATION (Reception to Year 6) – you should have received these forms in white envelopes this week.  Please complete and return them to school by next Wednesday 15th September, immunisations will take place (if you have consented) in school on 15th November.  Many thanks.

LOST PROPERTY – a number of cardigans/jumpers/water bottles etc have been left in school without any names on them.  Please ensure you label all your childrens’ belongings.  Thank you.

PTA Meeting – the first PTA meeting will be held on Tuesday 14th September at 3.15pm in the School Hall.  New members Welcome!

Parent Pay (not including Nursery pupils) – parents/carers should now have received their username/log-in details – please activate your accounts as soon as possible as any future school trips and school lunches will need to be paid for via Parent Pay (we can not accept payment with cash/cheque).

Packed Lunches – to reduce the risk of choking, please ensure any grapes/cherry tomatoes provided in lunchboxes / for snacks are cut lengthways.

CYCLE TRAINING DATES for Years 5 and 6 – reminder –

CCBC will be conducting Cycle Training for Year 6 pupils starting next Tuesday 14th September for 3 weeks If you have not done to already, please return the consent form to school by Monday 13th September.  Please ensure that your children bring their bike/helmet to school on 14th, 21st and 28th September. Thank you

Year 5’s cycle training will take place on Tuesday 5th, 12th and 19th OCTOBER.  Please return their consent forms by Monday 17th September please and ensure that pupils bring their bike/helmet to school on those dates.

TEMPEST PHOTOGRAPHY – for information, Tempest will be at school to take individual photographs of pupils on Tuesday 21st September.

McMillan Cake Sale – we will be arranging this in the next few weeks – more details to follow.
